Chan admires four-time World Champion Kurt Browning for his personality and admires World Champion Todd Eldredge for his work ethics. Chan’s parents are immigrants from China. His mother immigrated from Hong Kong to Canada in her late 20s, his father came as a young boy to Canada. Chan’s father played ping pong and coached a ping pong team in Quebec. Chan returns to competition after taking a break in the 2014/15 season.
